Fold Architecture · Portland
Small homes that live large
We shape daylight from two sides, built-in storage, and considered construction into homes designed for daily life.
A shared point of view
From Oregon roots to Fold
The founders met at the University of Oregon, then worked at a large Seattle firm before starting Fold Architecture in 2015. That experience shaped a practice focused on making each home and its site work harder.
Small homes, considered
More room in every decision
Every design choice can support daily comfort while making thoughtful use of space and resources. We focus on the details that help a home feel generous without asking it to be larger.
Design priorities
Daylight from two sides
We plan every room to bring in natural light from two directions.
Built-in storage
Storage becomes part of the architecture, ready for the rhythms of daily life.
Thoughtful construction
We use mass timber and passive-house construction where the budget allows.
Start with possibility
Begin with a grounded assessment
A paid two-hour review maps zoning, setbacks and a rough construction cost before design begins.
